Why a wool runner?
A hallway takes more footsteps than any other floor in the house, and wool copes well: the crimped fibre springs back after being walked on and the natural lanolin helps it shrug off dry dirt. The runners here are hand tufted, with a sheared pile, in graphic honeycomb, block and zigzag designs from the Hive and Reef ranges, many of which also come as matching room-size rugs.
Living with a wool runner
- Expect some shedding for the first few weeks; it settles with regular suction-only vacuuming.
- Put a non-slip underlay beneath it on wood, laminate or tiles.
- Rotate it every few months so the walkway wears evenly.
- Blot spills straight away with cool water; avoid hot water and harsh detergents.
Want a matching rug for the living room? Several of these designs are also in geometric wool rugs.
Questions about wool runners
Are wool runners good for hallways?
Yes. Wool is resilient and hides everyday dirt well, which makes it a good choice for a busy hall with a non-slip underlay.
What size are your wool runners?
The wool runners in this collection are 66 x 200 cm. Check each product page for the exact size options.
Do wool runners shed?
Hand-tufted wool sheds loose fibres at first. This is normal and reduces with regular vacuuming.
