A graphic welcome
A hallway is the first thing visitors see, and a patterned runner gives it instant character. This collection brings together two very different looks:
- Hand-tufted wool, 66 x 200 cm: bold honeycomb, colour-block and zigzag patterns with a soft cut pile.
- Jute herringbone flatweaves, 68 x 240 cm: a two-tone herringbone that reads as pattern from a distance and texture up close. Flat, so doors pass over easily.
Choosing the pattern
Long, repeating patterns such as herringbone and zigzags make a hall feel longer; strong colour blocks draw the eye to the runner itself. In a narrow hall, keep to two or three colours that echo the wall or woodwork. More ideas in our rug colour guide.
Questions about modern runners
What is the best runner for a modern hallway?
A geometric wool or jute herringbone runner works well with modern interiors. Wool is softer; jute is flatter and more textured.
Are jute runners good for hallways?
Jute is fine in a dry hallway, but keep it away from the front door where wet shoes land, as water can mark it.
Which runner sizes are available?
The modern runners here come in 66 x 200 cm (wool) and 68 x 240 cm (jute). Each product page lists the exact sizes.
