Rugs that give plastic bottles a second life

Recycled polyester, often labelled PET, is made by cleaning, shredding and melting post-consumer plastic bottles, then spinning the result into yarn. Rugs made from it look and feel like conventional polyester and share its practical side: colours hold well and water-based spills do not soak in easily. Some of our designs carry the GRS (Global Recycled Standard), which independently verifies recycled content through the supply chain.

Questions about recycled & eco rugs

What is a recycled PET rug?

A rug woven from polyester yarn made from recycled plastic bottles (PET). It looks and performs like a standard polyester rug.

What does GRS certified mean?

The Global Recycled Standard is an independent certification that verifies the recycled content of a product and tracks it through the supply chain.

Are recycled rugs soft?

Yes. Recycled polyester can be spun into very soft yarns, including the deep piles used in shaggy rugs.
