Art for the floor
Abstract rugs treat the floor like a canvas: sweeping brushstrokes, marbled veins, soft colour washes and loose organic shapes. Unlike a geometric pattern, an abstract has no strict repeat, so it is forgiving to place and hides everyday marks well. Many of ours are machine woven in polypropylene and polyester blends with a soft, medium pile, and some add carved or space-dyed yarns for depth.
How to style an abstract rug
- Pull two colours from the rug for cushions, a throw or artwork to tie the scheme together.
- Keep the rest of the room calm and let the rug lead.
