Rug sizes in cm and feet: conversion chart
UK rugs are sold in centimetres but many people, and many design guides, think in feet. Use this chart to convert.

How to convert
- Centimetres to inches: divide by 2.54.
- Inches to feet: divide by 12; the remainder is inches.
- Example: 230 cm divided by 2.54 is 90.6 in, which is 7 ft 6.6 in, or about 7ft 7in.
US sizes vs UK sizes
US guides often quote 5x8, 8x10 and 9x12 ft. The nearest UK equivalents are 160 x 230 cm, 240 x 340 cm (slightly larger than 8x10, which is 244 x 305 cm) and about 275 x 365 cm. A UK "8 x 10" is therefore not an exact match, so check centimetres before you buy.
